Lotus Table
The ancient Egyptians regarded the Nile Lotus Flower as a sacred symbol of the sun, creation and rebirth. This mystical flower also symbolized the union of the Upper and Lower Egypt; a perfect narrative and inspiration for this table collection which is designed as a binary object with parallel-mirrored convex surfaces.
The Lotus Table Collection is united in shape, but each element also maintains its individuality through the use of contrasting material finishes. The square base uses a uniform lacquer; dark and reflective like a deep river, juxtaposed with the blossoming round top of natural wood or soft gilded finish. These two unique kingdoms harmoniously merge into a simple yet refined object.
